LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local 5th graders are proving that you’re never too young to make a difference.

This week, students at Field Elementary organized a cereal drive for Dare to Care Food Bank — and the results were impressive.

By Tuesday, more than 1,000 boxes of cereal filled the school hallways. Students even turned the collection into a colorful domino challenge, showing just how much their community rallied behind them.

The project was entirely student-led, giving the fifth graders a hands-on lesson in leadership, teamwork, and the power of giving back.

Teachers said this is only the beginning, with more student-driven service projects planned throughout the school year.
