LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The boys basketball coach at Floyd Central High School was suspended for what district leadership called a "violation of school district policy."
New Albany Floyd County Schools Superintendent Travis Madison said Thursday that Fonso White won't coach the rest of the reason due to "continued concerns over his leadership and accountability within the boys program."
White will remain a teacher at FCHS.
"At this time, we feel it is in the best interest of the team, its players and Floyd Central High School," Madison wrote. "... No further comments will be made on this issue as we work through this process."
Assistant coach Mikel Miller will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
FCHS is 3-13 on the season with wins over Meade County, Richmond and North Harrison.
