LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Floyd County leaders cut the ribbon Thursday on a new government center in downtown New Albany that will house several county offices.
Located on Spring Street in downtown New Albany, government officials will be moving from the courthouse building across the street into the second and third floors of the new building. The first floor is occupied by a Chase Bank location.Â
The county auditor and treasurer offices will be on the second floor, while the third floor will be used for administrative and human resources offices.
"What it means to me is better service for our tax payers, better work environment for our employees, and more efficiency and it's something that's going to be here for the next 50 to 100 years," said Floyd County Commissioner Al Knable.
The county expects to move into the fourth floor of the building once the current tenant's lease expires.
