GLENDALE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The new BlueOval SK battery plant being built in Hardin County is causing ripple effects for the towns surrounding it.
The plant is already bringing more traffic to the town of Glendale, so the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is looking at ways to reconfigure the roads near the plant. But some of those plans could mean taking out homes.

"I always call it my wonderful world," said Rita Miller.
Miller and her husband built what's known as "The Pink House" in Glendale themselves from the ground up. Customizing every detail, from the wallpaper on the ceilings, to the TV inside the mantle.
"I did all of the papering on the ceilings myself," Miller said. "We actually built the house around the mantle."
Every room in the home like museum overflowing with antiques.

"We've collected all of our lives, actually," said Miller. "Have you ever seen anybody that collects lightbulbs?"
The property even has 10 mini houses, each with its own name. That includes Pop's Toy Shop and Nana's Playhouse.
But in August, Miller learned through a WDRB News report that she is one of eight residents whose homes could be taken by the state through right of way acquisition to build a bypass.
"It just broke us," she said. "We can't plan tomorrow, we can't plan anything because we don't know what's going to happen."
Miller believed her home was in a historic district and was protected, but KYTC said it recently learned the historic district boundary expansion from 2005 was never finalized.

KYTC is looking at different ways to reconfigure the roads based on what residents want. It said the plan will be posted soon, but wouldn't give a specific date. From there, it would head to the Kentucky General Assembly for funding.
But as of right now, Miller is left waiting to hear if she is going to have to leave her "wonderful world."
"Unbelievable. The uncertainty is probably the worst," she said. "I consider it torture waiting."
Miller has a Facebook group called "Save the Pink House Glendale Kentucky" with nearly 2,000 members to raise awareness. To connect with the group, click here.
