LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville native Shae Goodlett has been chosen as the Official Poster Artist for the 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival.
Goodlett’s artwork will headline the festival’s official poster and merchandise line, including apparel, mugs and accessories, which will be unveiled in February.
"For more than 40 years, the Derby Festival poster has captured the spirit of the season," Festival President and CEO Matt Gibson said in a news release. "Shae is a talented Louisville artist whose creativity brings the Festival to life in a new way."
Goodlett, who teaches graphic design and illustration at the University of Kentucky, said the honor is a career milestone.
"Being named this year’s artist feels like a bucket-list accomplishment. I focused on spontaneous mark-making and bold colors to capture the energy of the Festival," he said.
