LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) ā A Louisville chef has been named a finalist for one of the food industry's most prestigious awards.
Noam Bilitzer, owner and executive chef at MeeshMeesh Mediterranean, is one of five finalists for the James Beard best chef in the Southeast Region award, which includes Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia, as reported by our partners at Louisville Business First.Ā
Winners will be announced at a June 16 ceremony at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.Ā
MeeshMeesh, which opened in 2023 in Louisville's NuLu neighborhood, is one of the most popular restaurants in the city. The restaurant has received a number of accolades such as being named to Yelp's Best New Restaurant list in 2024.Ā
Bilitzer has also received numerous awards and titles such as being "Chopped Winner" on Food Network show "Chopped." He also was named one of Louisville Business First's 20 People to Know in Tourism/Hospitality.Ā
