LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Government is warning residents of about scam emails posing as official messages and asking for payment to "finalize" applications for its Office of Planning.
Government officials said in a release Tuesday that the emails are fraudulent and anyone who receives them should not reply. Below is an example of what the scam email looks like:

Metro Government said it will never request payment by email, wire transfer or third-party payment platforms, and that all application fees are due at the time of submission through "official channels only."Â
Legitimate communication about applications will only come by phone or from a @louisvilleky.gov email address.
