LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The federal government is investing in helping to end child abuse in Louisville.
The Louisville Collaboration to Prevent Child Abuse, Youth and Family Violence was awarded a $2 million federal appropriations grant.
The funding will be used to help provide an infrastructure of evidence-based child abuse prevention, education and crime victim support activities, including mental health resources.
"The work that we will do will create hope and healing for families and give them tools and resources to change their potential trajectory as well as create a safer community for everyone," said Elizabeth Martin, president of The Center for Women and Families.
The Louisville Collaboration to Prevent Child Abuse, Youth and Family Violence consists of Family & Children's Place, Boys & Girls Club of Kentuckiana, The Center for Women and Families and Exploited Children's Help Organization.
