LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Orchestra now has a Grammy Award. 

The Louisville Orchestra's chief executive and music director are attending the Grammy Awards on Sunday. The Louisville Orchestra, one of the oldest, continuously-performing orchestras in the United States, was nominated for a Grammy Award. The nomination was for the Best Classical Instrumental Solo for the orchestra's performance in "The American Project."

The orchestra collaborated with world-renowned pianist Yuja Wang and conductor Teddy Abrams, who serves as the orchestra's music director. 

Abrams and Graham Parker, the Chief Executive for Louisville Orchestra, are attending the 66th Grammy Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday.

"We are incredibly honored to be nominated for Best Classical Instrumental Solo at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards," Abrams said in a news release. "This nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented musicians, as well as the incredible collaboration with Yuja Wang. We are grateful for the recognition and excited to represent the Louisville Orchestra on such a prestigious platform."
