LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg's son Ben is a junior at Brown University, where a shooter open fired, killing two people and wounding nine Saturday.
In a social media post Sunday, the Mayor said his son was on campus and had just made it back to his room when the shooting happened nearby.
"He and his roommates built some homemade furniture barricades and spent the night barricaded inside as we all anxiously awaited for information, praying for safety and looking for what today might bring," Greenberg said in the video post.
The Mayor said his son was not physically injured.
"I'm hopeful that this school shooting finally moves our country one step closer to doing something to prevent these tragic acts of gun violence from happening over and over again throughout America," the Mayor said.
The Mayor also offered condolences and prayers to the victims and their families.
