LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Mayor Craig Greenberg released his economic development plan for Louisville on Thursday and promised steps to track its progress.

Developed after months of meetings with business leaders and public input, the Growing Louisville Together plan includes concrete goals based on four major themes.

Those goals range from growing the city’s population to creating a new small business loan fund, along with adding new direct flights from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport to major U.S. cities and international locations.

Greenberg said a city dashboard will show the plan’s progress.

"We need to be very clear with the community about where we're making progress, where we need some assistance," he said. "And if the world changes and we need to pivot and change, we'll be very candid about that as well."

In addition, he said a new nonprofit organization will be established to "drive this plan forward."
