LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of people enjoyed the outdoors in downtown Louisville on Labor Day.

The Mayor's Hike, Bike and Paddle marked its 20th year with hundreds of participants gathered at Waterfront for a day of fitness and fun.

The event encourages exercise and outdoor activities. This year's hike consisted of a 4-mile walk, 8.5 mile bike ride and a scenic paddle ride along the Ohio River.

"It's a wonderful annual tradition Rachael and I love doing it every year, and we're so thrilled there are thousands of people out here today," Mayor Craig Greenberg said.

"It's wonderful for families," Rachael Greenberg said. "It's good to be together, to sweat together and just to enjoy Louisville and downtown."

There were also free fitness activities like yoga, tai chi, Zumba and more. A local DJ also spun some records, keeping the blood pumping.

T-shirts were available for the first 2,000 people who attended.
