LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's a brand new display honoring legendary boxer and Louisville native Muhammad Ali in downtown Louisville.
Thirty-six banners were unveiled on Wednesday. Each one of the permanent fixtures is meant to commemorate The Greatest and his love for Louisville.
"Muhammad loved Louisville and the city loved him right back," said Lonnie Ali, his wife. "Every Louisvillian, every tourist and every visitor, and more importantly every child who travels down that street will be reminded of him and what he stood for."
Muhammad Ali Boulevard was originally Walnut Street, but it was renamed nearly 45 years ago in honor of Ali.
