LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Oldham County voters will decide whether to allow alcohol sales throughout the county.

The special election is set for Dec. 29. It comes after nearly 6,000 people signed a petition asking for the election.

Right now, there are only a few places in the county where people can buy packaged alcohol like wine or a case of beer, including a liquor store at La Grange.

Supporters hope a "yes" vote will boost tourism.
