LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One lane of Interstate 65 South at Hospital Curve was opened Monday morning after being shut down for construction all weekend.

Since Friday night, crews have worked to replace bridge joints and install high-friction surface treatment to Hospital Curve. The closure allowed crews to address areas of I-65 impacted by recent semitruck crashes, and they were also able to address unrelated repairs near the Kennedy Bridge.

The left three lanes of the Kennedy Bridge also reopened at 5 a.m. Monday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said all of the southbound lanes in Hospital Curve are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Additional weekend closures will be scheduled at a later date so crews can finish joint replacements on I-65 North, according to KYTC.
