LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shepherdsville couple won $150,000 on a $10 Kentucky Lottery scratch-off.

Vicky Barnes purchased the $10 King Crossword Scratch-off at the Bullitt County Supermarket but didn't scratch it off until the following week.

Vicky said she scratched off the first bonus and it said $75,000. She then called her husband, Jamie, and told him she'd won really big on the lottery.

When on the phone with him she scratched off the second bonus and won another $60,000.

Jamie thought she was reading the ticket wrong but after she texted him a picture of the ticket, he thought she could've won $150,000.

"I was confident that ticket was a winner, but I’m still not sure it’s totally hit me yet," Vicky said.

The couple drove to lottery headquarters in Louisville on April 21 and received a check for $108,000 after taxes.

Bullitt County Supermarket received $1,500 for selling the ticket.

"It makes life easier," Jamie said.

The couple plans to buy a car and remodel their home.
