LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The holiday season often distracts us from healthier choices we may have made earlier in the year.
The holidays bring more gatherings and feasts.
During the time between Christmas and New Year's, many may consider those last indulgences before a New Year's resolution aiming toward a healthier lifestyle.
But nutrition is just as important around the holidays, as it helps with energy levels and it supports your immune system because it's also flu season.
"I would suggest operating from the mindset that moderation is key," said Dr. Keturah Bowe, a primary care physician at UofL Health. "You should enjoy your holiday. It only comes once a year, and one day should not ruin all the hard work you've done throughout the year. But one helpful tool that I usually stick with is sticking with one plate."
When it comes to easing into a healthier lifestyle in 2026, Bowe suggests incorporating more vegetables into your meals.
