LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a man on National Turnpike late Monday evening.
The man was identified Tuesday night by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Andrew Garner, 46.
It happened shortly before 11 p.m., according to a news release from the Louisville Metro Police Department. Officers from the 3rd Division responded to a call of a pedestrian struck in the 8200 block of National Turnpike.
Investigators determined the man, identified as Garner, was crossing the roadway from west to east when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes. Police said the driver of the vehicle continued on without stopping.
EMS was called, but Garner died at the scene.
