A rendering of the new Louisville VA hospital near the Watterson Expressway and U.S. 42 in eastern Jefferson County.

Crews will break ground this fall, and construction is expected to be complete in 2025.
A letter sent out Thursday said that blasting at the Brownsboro Road location will start on Dec. 1 and is expected to continue for five to six months.
The $180 million site will replace the existing Robley Rex VA Medical Center near Mellwood Avenue and River Road.
