A Kentucky lawmaker wants to create a yearly sales tax holiday to give families a break as they prepare for the new school year.

State representatives Tina Bojanowski, Beverly Chester-Burton, Daniel Grossberg, Josie Raymond and state Sen. Cassie Chambers Armstrong led a forum at Brown Park in St. Matthews after the state's largest school district opted to cancel classes for students on Monday and Tuesday as it attempts to fix major transportation issues.

A public forum will be held Sunday for families dealing with Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) busing issues.

It's not Rep. Derrick Graham's first time in the history books. 

City officials said it was a great opportunity to come together as neighbors and enjoy the season.

SHIVELY, Ky. (WDRB) – As Juneteenth approached on Sunday, celebrations were already underway on Saturday in Shively.

Jenkins, of Shively, withdrew her candidacy for the newly redrawn 44th District and said in a statement that she didn't want to prevent someone of color from representing an area that is now majority-minority.
