The victim told investigators she was standing and waiting for the exit doors to open on a Bloomington Transit bus Wednesday afternoon when another passenger began striking her in the head.
A Bloomington man was killed, after being swept away in his car.
Bloomington Police say Spierer was last seen around 4:30 a.m. on June 3, 2011 on West 11th Street in Bloomington on her way home after a night out with friends, but never got to her apartment.
The 20-year-old man was taken to a hospital, but died from his injuries.
Lauren Spierer, a student of Indiana University, went missing in 2011 from Bloomington, Indiana after a night out with friends.
Police continue to investigate the shootings, as the motive remains unknown.
