Families and workers displaced by the UPS plane crash say they’re still without answers, income or access to their property as the investigation continues.
The intersection of River Road and Zorn Avenue is shutting down this week for construction, with detours in place for the next five to seven days.
It took 25 firefighters approximately 15 minutes to gain control of the fire.
The crash happened about 7 a.m. on Charlestown Pike.
The state will be replacing the big bridge and the project is expected to take months to complete.
The right lane of Interstate 64 West, on the top deck of the bridge, heading into Indiana will close at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8.
The entire bridge was closed July 27 for emergency repairs after crews found a problem with a pier that supports the top deck on the Kentucky side.
Bridge renewal project officials said "added safety measures and weather delays" are delaying the scheduled Aug. 7 reopening.
This is the second time this month the lane on the top deck of the bridge has been closed for immediate repair.
Officials said crews found that a "component of the bridge deck" was in need of immediate repair before cars could cross the bridge on the top deck.
