Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw said the caller tells people they have past due or owe back taxes before asking for sensitive information.

The agency said Friday that residents should be on the lookout for a white, four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck with a red 4x4 emblem.

If you're worried about getting scammed by someone promising a quicker fix, you can consult the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or the Kentucky Roofing Contractors Association.

Anyone who thinks they may be getting scammed or that a company is price gouging goods or services related to storm cleanup should contact the BBB or Kentucky General's Office.

Police say if you receive a suspicious call, voicemail, text, or email and aren't sure it's legitimate, let police now. 

If you receive the text message, KYTC officials advise you to not click the link that asks for your personal information.

The caller says you've missed jury duty and that you have to pay $1,000 to Deputy Green at the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, otherwise you'll be arrested.
