Louisville's health department is advising residents and visitors to the area to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites.

To decrease the mosquito population and risk of infection, the health department will be conducting fogging Wednesday and Thursday.

One person has died after contracting the West Nile virus in Louisville, according to the city's health department.

It's the second time the virus has been located in southern Indiana this week.

No human cases of West Nile have been reported in Indiana this year, but 80 percent of people infected with the virus do not develop symptoms.

The infected mosquitoes were discovered in surveillance traps set by the Department of Public Health and Wellness.
