LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky freshman big man Zvonimir Ivisic, who entered the transfer portal last week after the departure of John Calipari for Arkansas, will follow his old coach to Fayetteville, he told On3Sports on Monday.
The 7-foot-2 Croatian big man played in 15 games after being declared eligible by the NCAA. He averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in just over 11 minutes per game.
He's one of three Kentucky players to enter the portal since the departure of Calipari, and is the second to commit elsewhere. Aaron Bradshaw, a 7-foot freshman, committed to Ohio State earlier on Tuesday. On the day Mark Pope was named Kentucky coach, DJ Wagner announced that he will enter the transfer portal and recruit Boogie Fland requested a release from his national letter of intent, though he said he'd consider staying with his commitment to Kentucky.
Ivisic signed with Calipari and the Wildcats in August of 2023 but complications with the NCAA eligibility process delayed his UK debut by 16 games. When he finally got onto the court, scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked three shots in 16 minutes off the bench.
Ivisic's shooting touch (he hit on 37.5 percent of his three pointers as a freshman) would've made him useful in Pope's offense, but instead he'll stay with Calipari.
