LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- What if you played golf five days a week but only played in your back yard?
That's the case for Tom Twohey who built a little course of his own behind his Prospect home.
Twohey has four greens and hits from various spots to make it nine holes with the longest hole measuring about 75 yards.
A nearly 50-year employee at Kroger, he spends much of his free time working on his course or playing it and he doesn't play anywhere else. Twohey said he hasn't hit a driver in about 25 years and is afraid of how he'd play on a real course.
But he loves his home course, calling it his baby. He will continue to tweak and add to it and likely spend even more time on it when retirement comes.
His wife Mary said she loves the passion he has for it, although she does need to be careful when she's working in the garden not to be hit with a stray shot.
