LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thunder Over Louisville is now just days away, and WDRB is your home for all of the action this year.

If you're still making plans, there are spots to watch big show on both sides of the river. Here are WDRB's top five spots to take in the spectacle.

From airplane acrobatics, to the bright booms of the big fireworks show, there are a few standout spots topping the list to take in the sights and sounds of Thunder Over Louisville 2024.

No. 5: Ashland Park

Starting on the Indiana side, Ashland Park is right along the Ohio River and offers a great view of the city skyline and the entire show for free.

But getting there could be a big tougher this year, with Riverside Drive closed for a major construction project. You won't be able to walk or drive over from Jeffersonville. Pedestrians will still be able to access the park via West Winbourne Avenue and South Sherwood Avenue.

No. 4: Slugger Field

Thunder at Slugger Field is returning this year. But things will look a little different since the Bats don't play at home on Thunder this year.

The ballpark will host a daylong music festival leading up to the fireworks show, headlined by The Crashers.

No. 3: Lynn Family Stadium

Guests can spend the day at the stadium starting with a showing of "Top Gun Maverick" on the big board before the air show.

Then fans can cheer on Racing Louisville FC as the team hosts the Utah Royals.

After the game, fans can move about the stadium to catch the fireworks show.

No. 2: Upland

Flying back across the Ohio River to Upland, which offers prime viewing from its many terraces and beer garden. You can't get much closer to the action.

No. 1: The Great Lawn

Finally, join thousands of your closest friends on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park. There you'll be up close and personal with all the action.

A Pegasus Pin will get you into the iconic spot to take in the show and kick off the countdown to Kentucky Derby 150.

WDRB is your go-to source for this year's Thunder Over Louisville action. Live coverage starts at noon Saturday, April 20, on TV, the WDRB News app and the WDRB+ streaming app.
