LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new resource is helping women in Louisville who can't afford or find menstrual products.
It's called the "Period Pod," and is located in the city's Portland neighborhood outside the Neighborhood House on North 25th Street.
The pod will be open 24/7, providing access to free period products for those in need. Similar to Little Free Libraries, each pod is weatherproof and stocked with products.
More pods will be popping up in the city, thanks to Louisville nonprofit, For Lady's Sake.
"Really looking forward to spreading these Period Pods not just in Portland and in District 15, but around the community. Because the need is everywhere," Candice Crawford, founder and CEO of For Lady's Sake, said.
The nonprofit is asking for donations to make that a reality. For information about donating or volunteering to help stock or monitor a pod, click here. You can also email info@forladyssake.com to sponsor one of the pods.
