LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Radial, an e-commerce business, is shedding 136 employees from one of its two Louisville-area warehouses by Feb. 29, according to a government-required notice provided to Kentucky officials.

Radial is losing the client served by the distribution center in southwest Jefferson County's Riverport business park at 7700 Trade Port Drive, the company said in an emailed statement. It declined to identify the retailer.

"Radial is actively pursuing new clients for the available space. Employees impacted will be provided with severance if no additional business is in the building as of February 29," a company representative said in the statement. "As we establish new business, we look forward to re-hiring and welcoming back employees."

The company also has a warehouse in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

Radial processes and ships online orders for retailers such as Calvin Klein, Cole Hahn, Tommy Hilfiger. The company is a unit of Belgium-based bpostgroup.

Radial's North American revenue shrank by 9% in the final three months of 2023 compared to the same time a year earlier, according to a bpostgroup investor disclosure.

Online sellers and those involved in shipping — such as United Parcel Service — have been adjusting to sales volumes that leveled off following a huge surge during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This story was updated a day after initial publication upon receipt of a statement from Radial.
