HENRYVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- One person died after a fire ripped through a home in southern Indiana early Sunday evening. 

It happened in the 2100 block of Speith Road in Henryville. Crews with the Monroe Township Fire Department arrived found the home engulfed in flames. 

Monroe Township Fire posted on its Facebook page a little before 6 p.m. Sunday, warning residents to use caution and avoid the area if possible.

Battalion Chief Jared Phillips confirmed "there was a fatality involved" and said the State Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
