LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With Thanksgiving four days away, an annual fundraiser was focused on pie.

The ninth annual Kosair for Kids Pie Auction was held on Sunday to benefit to organization that pays for medical care, equipment and therapy for families in need. The pie auction was held at The Olmstead in the Crescent Hill neighborhood.

Dozens of pies and cakes made by local chefs were available for purchase. Participants also bid on the dessert equivalent of a "turducken," a blend of pumpkin piece, spice cake and pecan pie that was crated by Zac Young of "Top Ten Pastry Chef in America."

"It means a lot," said Erin Hinson, a Kosair for Kids parent. "To see this many people come out and support an organization that directly impacts my family but also hundreds and hundreds of families throughout Kentuckiana."

Each year the event raises thousands of dollars for Kosair Kids. To donate to Kosair for Kids, click here.
