LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new bar and game yard is coming to the Cherokee Triangle neighborhood near the Highlands.
Atomic is located at 1125 Bardstown Road in the former space that housed Wash-o-Rama. The owner Dustin Hensley said he got involved in the property in 2016 with initial plans for a five-story hotel.
Those plans fell through during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hensley decided to renovate what was already there.
"Just decided to put a bar in it," Hensley said. "But I tried to make it a little more creative than just a bar. It's going to have a game yard. And I've been lucky enough that I'm still doing a little eight-unit hotel out back. It's still an interesting project for the Highlands. We've hired some interior designers. I think it's super cute in both the outside and inside."
Hensley hopes to open Atomic by the end of June or early July.
