LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Millions of Americans are receiving payouts right now from Facebook as part of a class action settlement over privacy issues. Now, the next company to pay will be Amazon, which has agreed to refund $1.5 billion to consumers.

Did you end up with an Amazon Prime membership when you never wanted one? A number of people are receiving emails from Amazon, thanking them for joining Prime.

The FTC sued Amazon over this, and the company has agreed to $2.5 billion in penalties, including $1.5 billion in refunds.

The company says people who were signed up for Prime without their consent since 2019 and used less than three Prime benefits will receive a cash payout up to a maximum $51.

Amazon said some of the payouts will be automatic, based on your history though some customers will have to fill out a claim form.

You may have to wait to see if you get the money automatically, and there are no details yet on when you might get that money back.
