As we head into the holiday spending season, how would you like some free money?
It can be as easy as checking for our name on a website.
A guitar teacher heard reports about the unclaimed funds and decided to investigate. He went to a national database website, put his information in, and found out in a few seconds that he had four checks totaling up to more than $600.
The funds were from a TV appearance he did about 15 years ago.
They can be anything from an old security deposit, stock dividend, inheritance, or refund from a cell phone company.
In any case they couldn't find you, it went to the state.
