LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Visitors of downtown Louisville can now experience free self-guided walking tours.

Louisville Downtown Partnership announced the launch of self-guided walking tour series. The Downtown Louisville Easy App Walking Tour Series is designed to give locals and visitors a tour of the city's history, culture and architecture, according to a news release.

"We are thrilled to unveil these new audio walking tours, offering an additional way for people to engage with Downtown and enlighten themselves about the story of our city," Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of LDP, said in a news release Monday. "Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime resident, these self-guided tours provide a personalized and educational experience that celebrates the unique character and heritage of our Downtown."

Each tour offers guided narration that shares stories on landmarks, hidden gems and historical sites. It includes historic West Main Street, Civil Rights Markers and Whiskey Row. The tours are voiced by Louisvillians like University of Louisville Archivist Tom Owen, author and daughter of Muhammad Ali, Rasheda Ali and Fleischaker.

The tours are about 45 minutes to an hour. Directions are provided within the audio tour.

Information cards will also be available at Louisville Tourism's downtown visitor information center.

The tour is accessible via any podcast platform found under Louisville Downtown Partnership's Spotify or streamed on its website. The digital maps of the tours can be downloaded or printed by clicking here
