LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Shelbyville manufacturer is expanding its operations.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced the $11.5 million expansion of Process Machinery Inc. (PMI), which will create 30 new jobs, Thursday.

PMI designs and manufactures conveyor systems for the mineral processing industry. Currently, the company employs 90 Kentuckians.

After rapid growth within the last 10 years, PMI needs additional space to meet demand. The expansion will add 28,000 square feet to the company's current operation.

“Kentucky’s thriving manufacturing sector has been a crucial component of our state’s recent economic momentum,” Beshear said in a news release.

The expansion project will be completed in three phases, with the whole project expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

The project will include site development, construction of a new paint facility and expanding existing manufacturing and office space.
