LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 3 million Christmas lights deck the halls at the Louisville Mega Cavern, and visitors have twice as many chances this year to see them.
The Louisville Mega Cavern’s 10th annual Lights Under Louisville is open during the day for the first time this year. The path is in a different part of the cavern, which allows the light show to operate and play music during the day. Nearby businesses prevented a daytime attraction in the past.

A tram car called the Christmas Express runs every day in the late morning and early afternoon. It can take more than 60 visitors through the cavern at once and allows schools to take field trips to see Lights Under Louisville.
There are nearly 1,000 Christmas displays throughout the cavern.
“We see anywhere from 150,000 to 200,000 people in about a six-week period of time,” said Sarah Harrison, the director of group sales and events for Mega Cavern.
More ticket windows are open this year to accept cash or credit card and keep traffic flowing. Lights Under Louisville also has a new Winter Wonderland room.
“Instead of getting off and just being done, we now have this whole experience, which is called the Winter Wonderland, and you get to come in and visit Santa's house for milk and cookies,” Harris said.
Snow Fox is scheduled to be at Lights Under Louisville twice a week to selfies with families. Click here for times and reservations.
Lights Under Louisville started on Nov. 16 and runs through New Year's Eve.
