LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 16-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police were called to the 5300 block of Ridgecrest Road around 7:30 p.m. June 23 on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. That's off Shepherdsville Road, not far from GE Appliance Park.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a teen boy who had been shot. Ellis said officers gave life-saving aid to the teen, but he died at the scene.
Police said the 16-year-old was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a minor.
