LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man and woman were arrested Friday in connection with a murder that happened in Shively in late September.Â
Louis Jones, 34, and Clarnesha Taylor, 25, were arrested Friday afternoon at a Thornton's on Dixie Highway after they were allegedly found in the victim's vehicle, according to court documents.Â
Shively Police said the victim was shot just before 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 29. That's when officers were sent to the Interstate 264 West exit ramp to Dixie Highway on reports of a man on the ground trying to wave down passing vehicles. The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and later pronounced dead.Â
Court documents indicate that Taylor told police she saw the victim and Jones physically fighting before hearing a gunshot, and then saw the victim on the ground. She said "the victim attempted to stand up but fell back to the ground."Â
Taylor said Jones then got back into the vehicle and she drove away. Investigators said in court documents that Taylor and Jones contacted the victim's mother demanding money just before the shooting occurred.Â
Taylor and Jones were arraigned Saturday. Court records indicate Jones has a lengthy criminal history, and arresting officers said he and Taylor are considered flight risks.Â
Taylor is charged with complicity to murder. Her bond was set at $100,000. Jones is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The judge set his bond at $250,000.Â
They're due back in court on Oct. 30.Â
