LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died early Thursday morning after he was hit by a vehicle on National Turnpike.
Louisville Metro Police said officers responded around 3:13 a.m. to a report of a vehicle collision involving a bicyclist in the 5500 block of National Turnpike. Officers arrived at the scene to find the man lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the man was was riding his bicycle on National Turnpike when he was hit by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lanes.
The vehicle and driver fled the scene.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
