LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested for allegedly shooting a man he claims was stealing an air conditioning unit from his property Friday afternoon.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said officers responded on a reported shooting in the 100 block of N. 34th Street at 12:45 p.m.
Police found a man who was shot in the leg and he was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Carl Jennings, 78, was arrested in connection to the shooting and initially charged with assault.
According to court documents, Jennings told police he saw the victim allegedly steal an air conditioning unit from his property and fired a single shot to scare the victim but accidently shot him in the leg.
