LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are looking for a man accused of abusing a puppy.

Demetrius Hebert is wanted for felony dog torture,Ā LMPD said in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Police said Hebert and his girlfriend got into a verbal altercation, and Hebert started to pack his things to leave. As he was grabbing his belongings, Hebert grabbed the puppy "Kash" around the neck, swinging him violently while arguing with his girlfriend, police said in the post. Police said he threw the puppy across the room, and "Kash" hit a glass table before falling to the floor.

LMPD responded to the scene, and rushed the puppy to Shively Animal Hospital, but the puppy died before getting medical treatment.
