LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in the city's Parkland neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for LMPD, said officers were called to 28th and Garland around 4 p.m. on a reported shooting. That's not far from Elliot Park and Brandeis Elementary School.
Once on scene, police found a man who had been shot multiple times, Mitchell said. He was transported to University Hospital where he later died.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but had no suspects and had made no arrests.

Brandeis Elementary School Principal Shervita West sent a letter to parents after the shooting, alerting parents of the incident. West said the school raised their security level to restrict activity in and around the school.
Some classes were outside on the school's playground at the time, West said, and they were immediately taken inside. West said they don't believe any children witnessed the gunfire. The school was later given the all clear for dismissal.
"These types of incidents in our neighborhood are unfortunate," West wrote. "But we want you to know that the students and our staff did exactly what they are supposed to do when something like this occurs."
