LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood on Sunday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of East Muhammad Ali Boulevard around 6 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found a man outside who had been shot.
Ellis said police rendered First Aid and used a chest seal to control bleeding until EMS arrived. The man was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police are working to determine what led up to the shooting and a possible motive.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating. Ellis said a person of interest was detained and is being question.
