LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Elizabethtown Police Department on Thursday unveiled its newly-renovated victim interview room — a more welcoming space designed to provide comfort in stressful situations.
The room, once a standard interview space, has been transformed with softer lighting, comfortable seating and calming décor aimed at reducing stress for victims who come forward.
The project was funded through a competitive grant secured by Victim Services Specialist Anesha Knott. The grant paid for a full overhaul of the room and added essential items meant to support victims in crisis.
The funding came from Heels Together, a women-led initiative of the Central Kentucky Community Foundation. The organization, founded in 2014, focuses on long-term solutions that improve the lives of women, girls and families across the region.
The updated space is intended to offer a safer, more supportive environment for victims during their most vulnerable experiences.
