LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kennedy Bridge reopened Saturday morning after a planned overnight closure.
State transportation officials said Interstate 65 South would be temporarily closed overnight Friday, Jan. 16, to continue the bridge expansion joint replacement project.
The closure began at 8 p.m. and reopened just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17.
The closure was for all lanes of I-65 South just past Exit 1 to U.S. 31 South (Stansifer Avenue/10th Street) in Jeffersonville.
After this, crews will begin the next phase of the project. That phase will replace expansion joints in the left three lanes as work will move to the left side of the bridge.
