LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was seriously injured in an early morning house fire Tuesday in the Pleasure Ridge Park area, according to fire officials.

The PRP Fire Protection District and Louisville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 4900 block of Feys Drive around 2:52 a.m. Tuesday.

Fire crews arrived within three minutes and found heavy flames coming from the front of the home. Neighbors told firefighters someone might still be inside. Crews quickly entered the house to search for the occupant while working to contain the fire. Firefighters located a man inside, rescued him from the home and took him to a hospital with serious injuries. His condition hasn't been released.

About 30 firefighters responded to the scene and used multiple hose lines to bring the fire under control in about 15 minutes. No other injuries were reported.

Officials said smoke alarms were present in the home, but it's unclear if they were working at the time of the fire.

Louisville Metro Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.
