LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The public is invited to attend a town hall meeting Friday night on a proposed data center in Madison, Indiana.

The proposed JPG Data Center would include nine buildings across nearly 2,000 acres in Jefferson County.

A zoning appeals board voted on May 20 to deny an appeal challenging plans for a massive data center campus at the former Jefferson Proving Ground site, allowing the project to move forward.

Many residents argued they were not properly notified before the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Office approved the project in February. Residents raised concerns about noise, pollution, water usage, hazardous materials and the potential for lithium battery fires connected to large-scale data center operations.

Friday's meeting is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Madison. A group of panelists will be available to answer questions from the public.
