LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana is cracking down on catalytic converter thefts.

Gov. Eric Holcomb has signed a law to make penalties stiffer for thieves who steal catalytic converters from cars. Thefts of catalytic converters and other valuable metals will now be prosecuted as a felony in the state.

The law also states that if metal dealers knowingly buy stolen parts, they could be charged with a felony, too.
