LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Washington County Sheriff's office has confirmed that two people have died after a crash just north of Hardinsburg, Indiana.

It happened just after 9 a.m. on Hardinsburg-Livonia Road. We're told two vehicles collided on Hardinsburg-Livonia Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a red 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound and as it topped a hillcrest it traveled into the southbound lanes striking a black 2014 Jeep Compass.

The coroner says the drivers of each vehicle died. It was reported that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and there was airbag deployment. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The victims have been identified as Tami Jo Durbin of Hardinsburg, Ind. and Terry Paul Collins of Orleans, Ind.

Authorities say Durbin was driving the Chevy Cobalt; Collins was driving the Jeep Compass. 

No word on what caused the crash.
